Frequently Asked Questions
RESERVATIONS/BOOKING:
Reserving a date and time requires a deposit of 25% of the estimated charges, paid to Party Bus Charleston at the point of booking and not refundable. Two weeks before the service runs, whatever balance remains goes onto the credit card we hold on file.
VEHICLE CAPACITY:
No vehicle may carry more passengers than it has seats.
OVERTIME/WAIT TIME BILLING:
Time beyond the booked window bills to the card on file. The first fifteen minutes are free; past that, charges accrue in half-hour blocks at the hourly rate for that vehicle.
ADDITIONAL FEES AND CHARGES:
(1) Overtime, mileage, tolls and parking picked up along the way are billed to the Client, and Party Bus Charleston issues an itemized invoice breaking out every added fee and what it cost. (2) Before the trip begins, the Client and Party Bus Charleston walk the vehicle together and log any damage already present — this record exists to protect the Client. The same walk-through happens at the end. Anything new is the Client's to cover, along with repairs and any cleaning that goes past ordinary use, whether caused by the Client or someone in their group. (3) Damage, vandalism, and property lost or stolen from the vehicle by anyone in the Client's party fall to the Client. Billing covers replacement at cost, labor at $75 per hour, and the revenue the vehicle would have earned while it sits out of service.
CANCELLATION:
Cancel more than 14 days out for any reason and the 25% deposit is forfeited. Cancel inside 14 days for any reason and the service bills in full. A booking made within 14 days of its own service date cannot be cancelled at all. No deposit is refundable under any circumstance. Delays or terminated service caused by airlines, trains or boats fall outside our responsibility.
CANCELLATION INSURANCE:
Adding Cancellation Insurance at booking buys the right to cancel any or all of the reservation with at least 24 hours' notice before the service date and time. We then reimburse the cancelled portion, holding back the insurance cost, tax, and any booking fees.
CHANGES/UPDATES:
Plans change — let us know as far ahead as possible. Our number is 843-216-2627 if you need a hand. We can't take responsibility for last-minute changes, though we will work with you wherever availability makes it possible.
RESCHEDULING/REBOOKING:
What you book is what you told us: paying the deposit locks in that vehicle, that date, those hours. Swapping the service, the vehicle or the timing depends on what's free and has to be arranged through the office on 843-216-2627. Nothing about a change can be promised in advance. A reschedule or rebooking that happens on the day of service carries a Rescheduling Fee — 20% of the base fare, or $20, whichever comes out higher — and the reason for the change makes no difference to that.
SMOKING:
No one smokes inside a Party Bus Charleston vehicle. Breaking that rule leaves the responsible party liable for cleaning costs and any resulting damage (see cleaning charges).
BIO HAZARD OR BODILY FLUID CLEAN-UP:
Any incident requiring bodily fluid or biohazard clean-up triggers a flat $250.00 charge to the card on file, per incident, with no exceptions made.
ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND WEAPONS:
State and federal law applies in full aboard every Party Bus Charleston vehicle, and there is zero tolerance for alcohol being drunk or held by anyone under legal drinking age. The same prohibition covers illegal drugs, the illegal use of drugs, contraband and weapons, for every passenger, the whole trip. Should a vehicle be impounded or damaged through a Client's misuse of any of those, the Client pays for the repairs and for the earnings lost while it cannot be rented out. At no stage may alcohol leave the bus during a trip. The driver and Party Bus Charleston decide, at their own discretion, what qualifies as contraband, a drug or a weapon, and either may call an immediate halt to the trip if any is possessed or misused. Passengers then make their own way onward and lose the fare in full.
CLIENT SAFETY:
While the vehicle is moving, everyone covered by this contract stays seated inside the passenger cabin — nobody stands in an escape hatch or leans out of a window. Injuries that follow from misconduct are outside Party Bus Charleston's responsibility, in motion or stopped, boarding or getting off. Whoever books is answerable for how their guests behave and for what they damage. Should harassment, fighting, violence, or damage to the bus or its fittings be directed at the driver, at staff, or at anyone on or near the vehicle, the driver may end the trip on the spot. Onward travel then falls to the passengers, and the full fare is lost.
CHILD SEATS:
We can supply child seats on request at $20 each. Liability prevents Party Bus Charleston from installing, tightening or adjusting any of them. Confirming that every child's seat is correctly fitted and secure before the vehicle moves rests entirely with the Client — it is not something the driver or Party Bus Charleston can verify. Every model differs and each needs setting to the individual child's size, height and weight.
PET FEE:
Travelling with an animal adds a $50 Pet Fee per animal, covering the extra sanitation and cleaning afterwards. Service Animals are not charged. Emotional Support and Therapy Animals are.
LIABILITIES:
Damage done to the vehicle over the course of the rental, by the Client or by anyone they bring, is the Client's financial responsibility in full. Should the vehicle break down mid-charter we carry no liability, and our obligation extends only to making up the lost time on a date both sides agree.
LOST ITEMS:
Belongings left behind, lost, missing or damaged are not our liability in any respect. If something turns up in a vehicle we are happy to get it back to you when convenient, with any shipping cost falling to the Client. After thirty days, unclaimed property passes to Party Bus Charleston and is disposed of as appropriate.
